Living Out Training
This is the main in-person training that we provide for churches. It's a weekday evening or Saturday morning spent on biblical and practical teaching on sexuality. Our sessions equip churches to understand and enjoy God’s purpose for sexuality, to be good places for those who experience same-sex attraction and to engage with our culture’s approach to sexuality.
Our training sessions are led by members of the Living Out team, who will share their insights and stories as same-sex attracted Christians who hold to traditional/historic biblical teaching on sexual ethics.
Those planning to attend should recognise that the teaching will be in line with the Evangelical Alliance's Basis of Faith and Affirmations on the Bible, Sexuality and Same-Sex Attraction (published in 2025), which are best understood in the context of the accompanying Guide and Theological Commentary.
What happens on the course?
A Saturday morning event consists of three one-hour sessions featuring talks, stories and plenty of opportunity for questions. For a weekday evening version, the material is contracted into two sessions.
Session | Purpose |
1: The Bible and Sexuality | A Bible overview on the subject of sexuality and marriage, showing God’s purpose for sex and why it is good news - even for those who are single and/or same-sex attracted. |
2: Engaging with Culture | How to answer the big questions that our culture is raising about the purpose of sex. |
3: A Biblical Vision for Church | Practical steps for churches to better welcome and disciple people who experience same-sex attraction. |
Who is it for?
Our sessions are suitable for all church members.
We can also come to speak to local church leaders, and combine that visit with a weekday evening or Saturday morning event for the wider church.
