A training course for youth leaders
Do you feel utterly at sea when it comes to conversations with your young people about sexuality and gender?
Mosaic, Living Out's new course for youth leaders, might be just the thing for you.
Over five sessions we'll explore sexuality and gender in the Bible and in our cultural moment, giving you language, knowledge and confidence for these conversations. By the end of the course you will have draft sessions plans to use with your young people, and an action plan to share all you've learned with your youth team or church leadership.
Your sessions will be led by Ashleigh, an experienced youth leader and part of the Emerging Generations team here at Living Out.
Join the pilot
Our first Mosaic cohort will run as a pilot, meaning you'll be feeding back on the content, structure and efficacy of the materials. Join us to help shape this course into something that really helps people like you!
There are limited spaces available. Applications close at the end of November.
Course components
- 5 online sessions of 1.5 hours each. These will be on Mondays, 7-8.30pm, on the following dates: 2nd Feb, 2nd March, 30th March, 11th May & 8th June.
We ask you to make sure you can attend every session, so that you get the most out of the course. If you can’t do these dates please make a note in your application, as it may be possible to move sessions. - 2-3 hours additional study time a month.
- For the pilot: a brief feedback form after every session, and a questionnaire to be completed at the start and the end of the course.
Other information
- All teaching on this course will be in line with the EA Basis of Faith & Affirmations on the Bible, Sexuality & Same-Sex Attraction.
- Applicants should be practicing youth workers. No further qualifications are required!
- This course is not accredited.
- There is no fee for this course, though there may be a small financial investment in some reading materials.
- While confidentiality will be respected and you are not required to disclose any personal information, please be prepared to share honestly and openly about your experiences of youth work with other students.
